    • One of the very best cars ever made, bar none.

I have owned many fine cars, among them 4 Mercedes, a Shelby, and others... I love cars and the technical aspects as well as the practical side. This '21 Tahoe Premier is as fine a driving car as is made today. The 3.0l diesel is incredible, I've owned diesels since '77 when I picked one up in Stuttgart, and I've had 6 since that time. I drove 515 miles back home upon taking delivery in Kellogg, Id. going into a slight head wind and keeping her at 73 mph, (1500) rpm, most of the time, I averaged 30.9 mpg. Upon driving around town the next week, I averaged 27.5 to 28.5 around, finally filling up the tank for the first time, some 670 miles later... very impressive. Even more impressive was the ride/handling... I ordered the "magnetic ride" and again the complete package is beyond incredible. Fit and finish is excellent, interior outstanding, quiet at the top levels of any vehicle. A couple of mistakes on GM's part... the "hanger hook" on the 2nd row drivers side is a tiny "one small hanger" thing... no good, should be the regular hand hold type which will fit many hangers and lots of weight. Next, no disk player, had I known this I may not have ordered the Tahoe, $70,000 and no disk player, that's robbery. The last thing is, I was not aware that the Nav system required a monthly fee, apparently. I have not had time to go through all the systems, but the NAV seems to be lacking. I give this Tahoe 5 stars all the way through except the above mentioned... you can drive for days in the car and never feel tired or worn out.
    • An almost luxurious family hauler

I purchased a 21 Chevy Tahoe LT October 2020 and my only regret is not getting an RST with sunroof and ventilated seats. Coming from a Silverado RST I prefer the more aggressive appearance. The ride is night and day compared to the Silverado and previous Tahoes I've driven. Smooth handing, very confident in corners, absorbs most bumps well. The Tahoe finally feels premium on the inside, even in the LT trim. Soft touch material everywhere! Tech is finally on par and or better than competitors without going to extreme. The infotainment system isn't perfect but it's smooth and glitch free. Wireless Android auto is the best! Overall the truck is very accommodating in all 3 rows at 6' 2" 270 lbs I approve the third row. I just wish the seating was a little more plush in all rows. Fuel economy is as expected about 16-17 mpg could do better if I ease off the gas. For a mix of Tampa highway and city driving that's not bad. Would love to see a serious Hybrid not like previous poorly executed models.

2021 Tahoe Premier 4WD Premium package, TX edition, Midnight Blue/Jet Black interior. I have been dreaming about the Tahoes since before the Tahoe name plate even existed. I about 15 years after after I started reading about it they shortened the Suburban and called it a Tahoe, took me 25 years but I finally got one. Smooth rides Magneric Ride Control is basically a poor mans Air Suspension. ame concept of operation but less moving parts to fail, (Air Bags, compressors etc…) Great ride, excellent features, modern safety technology and modern design without getting too flashy. I am not a fan of removing the headlights and for my model there is too much Chrome for my taste but the price was right and obviously wasn’t a deal breaker. Fuel Mileage…come on…1. It is essentially a almost 6000 lb. brick on wheels…Fortunately for me I got one of the NON Auto Stop/Start models. Still has Dynamic Fuel Management to shut down cylinders in cruise. Latest version uses different combinations of cylinders but still only four shut down. No transition noise or driveline wear and a seamless transition. DFM has come a very long way since the experiments on Cadillac in the early 80’s. One major gripe is a couple of safety features that should be standard on all Tahoe not just the Police versions. 1. Protected idle….Allows exiting of the vehicle with the key fob but unable to shift out of park without the fob being in the vehicle. Especially critical with the loss of the steering column lock. Auto Park: Not what you think. At speeds below 5 MPH if a door is detected open and seatbelt unbuckled the vehicle will automatically shift to park and apply emergency brake. It does however shift to park automatically if the engine is turned off in a drive gear. At very minimum Protected Idle. Ride smooth, not overly excessive road noise, good commanding view. The view is great for driving but for close quarters parking it is literally like o parking a large commercial jet airliner in a glass of water. You aviation geeks know what I mean. Features are numerous and for the most part easy to operate. A learning curve with the new push/pull electronic shifter but not tat far off from column shifters. Pull towards you for reverse and Drive…same as column shifters. And push for Park, NEUTRAL and manual/sport shifting mode. Panoramic moonroof is awesome and the entire shade slides back instead of just the forwards part of the glass, rear glass portion is fixed but shade retracts all the way. Sliding Center Console is nice but the overhead console mounted switch is another learning curve.
